Author: Chang Hongqin Uploaded Time: 2017-04-30

This book puts forward a framework of analysis to study gender differences in the use of time among Chinese rural households, based on the ability theory. Based on the findings of Western analytical frameworks of gender inequality to measure quality of life, and the collective model of household economic theory, the analysis framework used in the research looks at the impact of economic development on the time use of rural men and female labor, children and the elderly – especially in the two aspects of time allocation and time poverty. It establishes an analysis framework on capacity to measure gender differences of Chinese rural families in their use of time. The main contents of this book include: introduction; literature review; analysis framework of the capacity to measure Chinese rural gender differences and their use of time; and, gender differences in the time allocation of Chinese rural labor.
