"Supporting women's career development not only stimulates the innovation and vitality of enterprises, but also brings tangible economic benefits to employers," said Elaine Zhang, president of Amazon China at a forum on women's leadership and happiness, which was held on March 1 in Beijing.
Professor Chen Chunhua from Peking University gave a speech at the forum and she encouraged working women to grow into career challenges and blossom like the beauty of life.
According to reports, a research institute based in U.S. finds that the contribution rate of a gender-balanced IT patent team is 26-42 percent higher than that of a team with a single gender.
Another report also shows that companies with more women in management positions get higher sales profit margins and returns on capital investment, at least 16 percent and 26 percent higher than those with fewer female executives.
The forum was jointly sponsored by the National School of Development at Peking University and Amazon China.
