The provincial women entrepreneurs association of south China's Guangdong Province held their latest general meeting in the capital Guangzhou on April 1.
At the 2nd Session of the 6th Member Congress and Standing Council, some 40 businesswomen and 3 grassroots organizations were honored for their achievements in entrepreneurship, professional performance and innovation.
Meanwhile, Zhai Meiqing, chairperson of Guangdong Women Entrepreneurs Association, delivered the group's 2016 work report and outlined their strategy and priorities for 2017.
Senior officials including Zhou Liqiong, vice director of the Judiciary Committee of the Interior Department of Guangdong People's Congress; and, Yan Jingping, president of the provincial women's federation presented the awards to the winners.
Hu Yifan, chief China economist at UBS Wealth Management; and, Wang Zhiwei, a partner of PriceWaterhouseCoopers also attended the conference and discussed the economic and investment situation domestically and globally in regards to women entrepreneurs.
Founded in 1989, the association has over 5,000 members and 21 team members in multiple regions and sectors in Guangdong.
According to statistics, female entrepreneurs have provided job seekers with millions of employment posts and donated over 2 billion yuan (U.S.$ 290 million) to public welfare causes in the last few years.
