Marriage Is a Ferry——On Female Images in Gouno Taeko's Swine Door

Abstract:Swine Door, written by Kouno Taeko, describes the sense of existence and life experience that marriage brings to female, and the cognition and introspection of female on self-identity from the vision and feeling of Masako.Though the novel looks dull, it really explores the significance and value of modern marriage through the life experiences of grassroots female, and then reveals their living situation, life value and all kinds of social problems in marriage. The novel makes readers have deep thought on the female image.
