Study on Second Childbearing Willingness Among Female Employees——An Analysis of Female Employees in an HP Area in Shanghai

Abstract:This study focuses on female employees in Shanghai’s HP district and their willingness to have a second child. It found that the economic cost, ability to care and welfare level are major causes of bondage in the process of making a decision. Career development opportunities, position change after birth and fertility related welfare mechanisms have significant influences on female employees thinking of giving birth. Accordingly, it offers proposals on flexible working systems, supporting female ascension and increasing public childcare services.
