Womanism and Theme in "Everyday Use"

Abstract:Walker characterizes three women with contrasting personalities in her short story "Everyday Use". By analyzing the three women’s images respectively, the article holds the opinion that the three women in "Everyday Use" belong to the different kinds according to Walker’s identification of three types of women. And then based on the analysis, the article gives a tentative conclusion to show the understanding of Walker's suggestive attitude towards ethnical heritage in this story.
