Feminist Translation Theory and its Limitations in the Perspective of Hermeneutics

Abstract:The combination of Feminism and translation studies in the 1970s brought great impact upon traditional translation theories and practice, generating a series of theoretical achievements. Thanks to the persistent contribution by Gadamer, Hermeneutics has been on the way to maturity in the past thirty years or so and has become a fundamental literae humaniores research tool and one of the most important academic resources of post-Mordernism. This thesis tends to explore feminism translation theory and its limitations from the perspective of Hermeneutics.
