Abstract:The academia experienced the "spatial turn" in the 1970s. Many female geographers also turned their eyes to the relationship between women and space, which they illustrated from the perspective of feminism. Feminist geography experienced the turn of their concern from the shared experiences of women to the heterogeneous nature of women because of the differences of nationality, race, class and sexual orientation. In Kate Chopin's The Awakening, there are a lot of descriptions about the spaces. This paper will analyze Edna's effort of liberating herself through the spatial expansions from the perspective of feminist geography.
