Survey of health status of urban and rural empty nester in Luzhou city

Abstract:Objective:To Investigate the health status of urban and rural empty nester in Luzhou city, and to provide basis for reasonably solving the health problems of empty nester.Methods:A total of 458 empty nester were selected by Random cluster sampling from urban and rural in Luzhou city, the general situation questionnaire and the Short-Form 36 Health Survey scale(SF-36)were used for questionnaire survey.Results:There was statistically significant difference in SF-36 score among empty nester with different ages, incomes, marital status, living status, personality self assessment and frequency of sports activities(P<0.05).There was statistically significant difference in SF-36 score among Empty Nester with different ages, genders, incomes, frequency of sports activities, smoking and drinking in rural areas(P<0.05).Conclusion:Empty nester's health problems needed to get the common concern of the state, society and family, and targeted health promotion measures should be developed according to the different characteristics of urban and rural empty nester.
