A Comparative Study on the Efficacy and Safety of Paliperidone Extended-Release Tablets and Risperidone Tablets in the Treatment of Female First Episode Schizophrenia

Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy and adverse reaction of Paliperidone Extended-Release Tablets and Risperidone Tablets in the treatment of female first episode schizophrenia. Methods The 86 female patients with schizophrenia were divided into two groups according to the random number table method(n=43). Patients in the control group were given risperidone treatment, the treatment group was given Paliperidone Extended-Release Tablets treatment, and the treatment effect and adverse reaction of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment group was 97.67%(42/43), compared with 93.02% in the control group(40/43), the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05). The treatment group of patients with myotonia, akathisia, tremor, nausea and vomiting and dizziness headache incidence rate was lower than the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion The curative effect of Paliperidone Extended-Release Tablets in the treatment of female first episode schizophrenia and Risperidone Tablets effect is quite, but the adverse reaction of the former is less, more safe.
