A Review of Studies on Female Employees' Work-Family Conflict in Foreign Countries from 2004 to 2014

Abstract:Work-family conflict(WFC) has been considered one of the key causes of stress at work. The foreign WFC studies are broken down into to three aspects: antecedents, effects and interventions. The antecedents of WFC include demographic variables, personality variables and job-related variables. The effects of WFC cover personal attitudes, performance, and physical and mental health. The WFC interventions contain state interventions, organizational interventions and personal interventions. In the future, researchers may pay attention to WFC through the following perspectives: cross-culture or cross-level, system boundary or changing process, and intervention appraisal.
