Abstract:The United States, as the immigrant country which advocates equality and liberty, has for many years experienced severe gender discrimination. The American women's attainment of the right to vote in 1920 marked the great success of the practice of the American value system. The two Feminist Movements before and after the time made the American women's role transform greatly. In this process, two American female Secretaries of States, Rice and Hillary acted as significant role-transformed models in political arena while two grass-root heroines in the films The Color Purple and Thelma and Louise also present the world with their role transformation in their own remarkable way of life.
